Must visits for me are Jorvik (stop 6 or 7) & York Chocolate Story (stop 6). You can also get a 20% discount at York Chocolate story with your CitySightseeing ticket.
please be aware on racecourse event days buses do not call at stops 12 - 18
For pubs the Duke of York and The Three Tuns. Duke of York is in King’s Square, so really central, near the Shambles and York Chocolate Story (stop 6). The Three Tuns is on Coppergate; it’s a 16th century building, really traditional pub serving draft ales & great pub grub. They also do live music.
My favoruite place to visit is Museum Gardens (stop 21). It’s a lovely peaceful place to walk around, and you also have the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey and the Yorkshire Museum, known for their spectacular collection of Roman artefacts and their dinosaur exhibition, which is great for kids.
